I have decided to put my masthead in a top strip as I want the main image to be the focus for the audience.

The main image will be across the left middle and right of the middle and bottom thirds but the main image will be at the left side of the magazine with 'dead space' in which I will place my cover line as I want continuity which a single image will create and also the mis-en-scen of the common room in the background will create a realistic aspect to my image.

My Front cover is relatively simplistic but I feel this will contribute to the integrity of the school magazine rather than over complicating the front cover and creating a front cover that mimicks a press magazine as it may suggest to my target audience that this is a construction of tabloid rather than a relaxed informative magazine.

I will have one main coverline on my front cover as I want my audience to be of no doubt what is the 'main' story and drive of this school issue.

Contrastingly to the front cover the focal point of my image will be of the right third of the contents. This is because although the image will be different from the image on the front cover, it will be of the same model and therefore I want there to be a clear way to differentiate between the pictures. Also I feel the contents should be on the left side as it will be the first place the audience will look at.

I will have two tertiary images that will also have a page number on. These will be self explanatory stories but I feel more images will be necessary as to slightly defer the focus on the main story of the new 6th form head boy/girl. This is so the magazine looks less focused towards just the 6th form as it is meant for the whole school.

I have decided for a small title of 'contents' as I don't want it to be the main focal point and to simply inform the audience on the nature of the page.

I will have many stories along the left third of the page with page numbers attached. However 'main' stories will be boxed and in bold to differentiate between the every-issue type of stories and the more important pieces that the audience may be immediately interested in.
